Ghostbuster Firestation Party

About 2 years ago a bunch of friends and I went to one of the most bad ass parties of all time. It was a Dublab event held at an undisclosed location in Downtown Los Angeles. Basically we parked our cars in Little Tokyo in front of this little boutique store and waited in line for a shuttle van to come and pick us up. After about a half hour of waiting they picked us up and took us only a few blocks away, right into the heart of skid row. We got out and walked into this huge building which turned out to be an old firehouse from the 1900s that was apparently the place they shot a bunch of interior scenes from Ghostbusters. Unfortunately once we got there we realized it was a cash only bar and between 7 or 8 of us we maybe had $100 total. DOH! Despite the fact that we were limited to about 2 beers a piece, we still managed to have a great time and got to listen to a bunch of really cool live music from Daedelus, The Gaslamp Killer, and Flying Lotus. The other cool thing was that the photographer B+ had a little photo booth set up there to take anyones picture who wanted it. I tried to get everyone together to get a group photo taken but that didn't happen so me and one of my oldest and best friends, Jesse took one instead. I'm sure the group photo would have been killer, but these photos are still awesome since they bring back a great memories from that party, and more importantly from when I still had long hair! After the show let out we were all treated to one of the most surreal sights we had collectively ever seen in Los Angeles. There were bums and crackheads lurking and stumbling around like zombies, the streets were all damp and shiny like in the movies, and there were rats swarming out of every gutter. Then we were treated to the sights of a wheelchair bound bum trying to fight another crackhead in front of some flophouse, and another bum was following our every move as he attempted to sell each and every one of us a piece of crap digital watch that lit up! By the 5th time I heard his rap on how it was the latest in technology and that it had a light I could not stop laughing. Finally a cab stopped and picked us up and everyone called it a night. And what a crazy and fun night it was.
