Judas Preist, Motor Head & Testament Concert!

Just found out about this concert featuring Judas Priest, Motorhead and Testament on August 30th at Glen Helen Amphitheater in Devore, CA! Sounds like a blast. To bad they scheduled it for a freakin' WEDNESDAY NIGHT! What are they thinking! Getting out there for an 8:00 show is going to be a nightmare. It's gonna take some careful planning to go to this one. Luckily there is still plenty of time to figure it all out.

Not The Fastest But Still Number 1 In My Book

Today my girlfriend and I went with my parents to the 4th annual Petco Chihuahua Races. It was out by Cal State LA somewhere and was hot as hell even though it was only 9 in the morning. We took the Tookster with us in hopes that he would win it all, but he got a case of stage fright and didn't even cross the finish line. When the gate opened and the crowd started cheering he just looked around and then ran around the starting gate and back to my dad. It was hilarious. We saw a bunch of other Chihuahuas there and I tried to take a couple of pics. However since most Chihuahuas are so skittish only a few came out that are worth posting. Besides... It's the Tookster's big day today so he deserves all the glory.

R.I.P. Kenneth Keith Kallenbach

Kenneth Keith Kallenbach, an original wack-packer from the Howard Stern show died today of pneumonia while in jail. He was a pretty ridiculous character and always made me crack up. I hope you're out collecting milk bottles behind that big trailer in the sky now. Thanks for the laughs!

I Got This Bike

Got the Specialized Langster Gangster fixed gear bike today. Riding it on the streets feels like a Ferrari compared to my mountain bike. Don't get me wrong... I still love my mountian bike, BUT Im gonna keep my mountain bike fresh for the mountains, and use the Gangster to zip around town. Fixed gears are the shit!

Double Birthday Party

Went to a really fun double Birthday party out in Venice yesterday. They had a keg of Fat Tire, a DJ playing some cool tunes, and also hired a taco cart to cook up some delicious food for everyone. I ate WAY TO MUCH food there and was ready to explode by the nights end. Lots of old school UCSB heads were there and everyone was chillin' and having a great time.

La Tuna Canyon Ride

Some friends and I rode the La Tuna Canyon Loop this morning. I think the loop is about 8 or 9 miles total, starting off with a strenuous 3 mile ride up to the summit. After that its all downhill on some fire road and single track trails, followed by a 2 mile ride back up La Tuna Canyon Road to the parking lot. It was a ton of fun, a great workout, and a perfect way to kick off the weekend. My legs felt like jello by the time we got back to the car since I haven't been trail riding in a bit, but like they say, "No Pain, No Gain!".

Bikes N Brews

Went on a nice bike ride to this bar that was about 10 miles away called the Delirium Cafe. It was super packed and seems to finally have caught on with the locals. After 2 delicious pints of Hoegaarden White, we bailed and rode home. A beer always tastes a million times better when you've earned it. I'm thinking I'm going to have to start doing this ride more often.

Number One In The West!!!

After what seemed like it was going to be the worst Lakers season ever, with Kobe's trade demands, a shakey start and Bynum's season ending knee injury (just to mention a few things), the Lakers have shocked the sports world once again. In the closest conference race in NBA history, the Lakers won the Number One Seed in blowout fashion after destroying Sacto last night. UNBELEIVEABLE. I'm saying this right now... Lakers will be the 2008 NBA Champs! The way they are playing, nobody will be able to beat them in a 7 game series. Bring on the playoffs!!!

Yo Za Mite

In a few weeks Im going to do a quick little trip to Yosemite with some friends. We are planning on hiking Half Dome if the cables to the top are up. If that doesn't pan out I'm sure there will be some other crazy ass trails we can hike on. I guess May is supposed to be the best time to go up there, since the snow has started to melt and all of the waterfalls will be pumping. I just hope we get good weather and that it's not way too cold. No matter what it's going to be refreshing to have a day off and spend it in one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Looking forward to this trip in a major way.

LA VS. WAR EXHIBIT

We rode our bikes to Downtown LA and checked out the LA VS. WAR Art Exhibit. They had some really cool art there, but it was surprisingly dead compared to the crowd that I was expecting. Here are a few pictures of my favorite pieces form the show.

What A Game!

Tonight was the game of the year! Lakers vs Hornets, Kobe vs Chris Paul for the MVP, and the battle for the chance to be #1 in the West. Lets just say that this game did not disapoint. The Lakers went up by 30 points in the 2nd half and it looked like it was over. Kobe did one of the sickest dunks he has done in a while, and Vlad Rad and Tyson Chandler almost got in a fight. Then in the 2nd half the Hornets made a crazy run and got within 1 point late in the 4th quarter. I was about to flip out! In the end everything worked out fine. The Lakers hung on to victory and wound up clinching the Pacific Division since Phoenix lost, and are now in position to grab the #1 seed if they win their final 2 games, and New Orleans loses one of their final 3. Playoffs here we come!!!
We won kid!

Talking Metal

So a buddy of mine told me about this cool new show on the Fuse Network called Talking Metal. It's basically a talk show for Metal Heads about all things Metal and it's hosted by these 2 dudes who are big-time rockers. It kicks major ass! The cover everything from Glam to Classic Rock to Dark Metal so it has something for everyone (if you like Heavy Metal that is). I was enjoying it so much that I wound up having a little mini marathon and stayed up a little later that I wanted to. They were interviewing Ozzy, Zakk Wylde, Kerry King, Don Dokken, Slash, Bumblefoot, Mike Patton and more... Another cool thing is that Richard Christy from the Howard Stern show makes appearances on the show every so often to cover songs and shred on the drums. If you like Metal and you like Howard Stern I highly suggest you check it out sometime!

Portland Letdown

The Laker's lost another game up in Portland tonight. What's up with them not being able to get wins up in that town? Anyways, the Lakers should have and definitely could have won this game, and it hurts even more since New Orleans lost tonight and they could have made up some ground on them. To have any chance of the 1 or 2 seed we need to win the 4 remaining games. I predict they will. Lets see how this pans out...

LA VS. WAR

Lately I've been seeing these posters plastered around town. After a quick internet investigation I found out that there is a 4 day event going on this weekend (April 10th to 13th) in Downtown LA to protest the Iraq War. It's called LA VS. WAR. I think I'm going to roll down there and wander around to see whats up. Lots of music, art, and films to check out, or so the website says. Sounds like a good time to me!

The Magic Kingdom

So I went to Disneyland with my girlfriend, and Mongy and his girlfriend today. We told our chicks that we were going to a video game conference in Orange County and wanted to drag them along (which they weren't too excited about at all). Mongy and I then faked an argument about who printed the directions out and how we were lost. I told Mongy to pull over and get some directions, but in reality we were at the DIsneyland exit. Needless to say, the girls freaked out, were super excited and overcome with joy. Then we spent the next 10+ hours at Disneyland spending way too much money. It was a great time, but hopefully I won't be going there for at least another 10 years. Way too many tourists and Disney Freaks for me to handle more than once a decade.

Lets Get It Started

Can't wait for the weekend to get underway. Tonight I'm going to the Lakers vs. Dallas game at Staples Center, which is gonna be a good one I suspect. Kobe usually lights Dallas up so I'm hoping he has at least 50 tonight in a Lakers win. The season is going down to the wire and every game counts to get the best seed possible in the West. They better not blow this one!!!

Do All the Lakers Shop There?

A friend of mine who works at the LRG Clothing headquarters ran into Ronnie Turaif today. He managed to snap a picture with him, and said he was a super cool dude. Last year he got to meet Kobe there and got an autographed basketball form him. I guess he has even seen Reggie Bush and Jerome Bettis there too, not to mention a lot of musicians and other famous people. Sounds like a great job to me! What a lucky mofo.
